Los medios de comunicación mundiales y la compañía de entretenimiento HeadsUP acaban de anunciar que está en las etapas de pre-producción de una nueva serie de televisión de poker. Va a ser un brinco a la fama para 12 o16 concursantes que van participar dentro de la serie en la temporada inaugural, que estará escogiendo entre miles de participantes que recibirán una audición para los roles disponibles. A pesar de que los detalles del programa todavía no son bien conocidos, es seguro que HeadsUp Entretenimiento cree que este nuevo espectáculo será uno de los programas de poker de más alto ranking, no sólo en los EE.UU., sino en todo el mundo.
El aumento en la popularidad del poker en el mercado internacional ha sido en gran parte a la Internet. El aumento de salas de poker en línea ha llevado a que disponibilidad del poder jugar poker se extienda dentro de un mercado muy amplio. Así es como hoy en dia el poker se está convirtiendo rápidamente en un fenómeno mundial y espectáculos HeadsUp decidió sacar provecho de esta popularidad con la creación de otro programa de poker. Kelly Kellner, presidenta y directora general de HeadsUp Espectáculos, reveló que un estudio de mercado concluyó que podrían vender la serie en al menos diez a doce países de habla Inglesa. Eso es un mercado muy amplio que está seguro de generar una considerable cantidad de beneficios. “Ahora estamos negociando con posibles patrocinadores para la serie y creemos que podemos completar la producción de la serie para su emisión en este ’horario de la televisión” Kelly dijo Kellner. “No hay duda de que las audiencias de televisión en al menos 20 países de todo el mundo han mostrado un enorme interés en la televisión de poker. Nuestro estudio de mercado ha concluido que podemos vender la serie en varios países de habla Inglésa “.

I think that the concept of bankrolls in poker is something that is misunderstood by the vast majority of poker players. In fact I have read more opinions and articles on the subject of bankroll management and earn rates than I can remember. I find most of the information to be wrong or at least misleading and this can only lead to poker students misapplying what they have read or heard.

I eagerly await the day professional poker players start attending career day events in schools explaining what ambitious kids need to do to become top players. It may sound silly but the top players seem to be getting younger everyday.

Poker discipline is something that all players should have as one of their main assets. If your discipline is poor, you should make it your highest priority to improve it. As a poker player, you will know that there are few things in life as exciting as landing a great looking starting hand in Texas Holdem.
